Perched at 1,200 meters above sea level in Brazil’s renowned Cerrado Mineiro region, Toca da Raposa Farm is a place where tradition, sustainability, and family intersect. The farm follows a holistic approach to agriculture, using nearly organic practices that avoid synthetic pesticides and fertilizers in favour of natural alternatives. Every decision made here is rooted in respect for the land and the ecosystems that support it.
José Maria de Oliveira, born in 1947, has dedicated his life to coffee farming. Alongside his wife, Lourdes Oliveira, he transformed the farm from modest beginnings into a respected producer known for quality and consistency. Coffee was never just a crop—it was a lifelong pursuit shaped by hard work, patience, and stewardship.
For more than 30 years, José Maria’s grandson, Deyvid Leandro, has been part of that journey. From helping in the fields as a child to becoming a driving force behind the farm’s evolution, Deyvid played a key role in encouraging the move into specialty coffee. The transition was not immediate or easy, but through experimentation, persistence, and shared belief, their efforts paid off.
In 2023, Toca da Raposa was awarded first place for Best Specialty Coffee of Minas Gerais in the induced fermentation category by Expocacer. The farm’s name—“Toca da Raposa,” meaning Fox Hole—is a tribute to José Maria’s lifelong support of Cruzeiro Football Club, but today it also stands as a symbol of resilience, family legacy, and excellence in coffee production.
This single origin offering represents more than a standout cup. It tells the story of generations working side by side, honouring the land, and continually striving to do better. We’re proud to share it with you.
