Hailing from Ethiopia’s Gedeo Zone—more specifically, the
Aramo district—this washed process bean is a stand-out
from the region’s fierce competition. Dirshaye Ferenju,
manager of the private washing station in Aramo where
this bean was processed, works directly with 750-800
farmers within the district. During the washing process at
Dirshaye’s station, the beans are fermented underwater
for 36-48 hours before being sundried on raised beds for
12-15 days.
